Your almanac · creatures, contrivances, bracework
What you have found in Boon.land
Every chapter names things worth keeping: creatures of the wild places, contrivances of the built ones, and bracework — the makers' habit of writing what they mean to make in sigils and braces. The first time a chapter names one, it is marked with a dotted line. Tap it, and it comes here. Most of them live in more than one place; finding one again somewhere new is how the almanac fills in.
Opening the almanac…
The figure under the hat
Each time you notice him, his drawing gains a line.
Bestiary
The wild places keep creatures, and every one of them watches back a little.
Contrivances
Where people build, they build things that help a little and cost a little: kilns, needles, bells, presses.
Bracework
Makers write what they mean to build before they build it, so it can be leaned on, read by strangers, or combined into something nobody planned. Braces say what is held together; a sigil says how.
The combining bench
a night-school game
Choose a container and a sigil, then two things. Close the braces and the box fogs into a small realm. A combine holds only what both things agree on, and it runs on borrowed warmth. The things you have found in the chapters join the hat of words; a few common words are always in it.
